Bible Verse: You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:31-39
Do you spend most of your days trying to catch up? Are you easily frustrated?
Where did your joy disappear to?
It’s not found in everything going your way or in getting it right. It’s definitely not found in winning
Ok, there is satisfaction in that but rarely does everything go your way, or how often do you get it right the first time or how often are you winning?
Can you experience joy at all times?
What did King David discover?
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11. ESV
The idea is that in God’s presence there is joy.
Do I have to die to get into his presence? NO, you just have to die to how you think your life has to unfold. You have to die to what you think will make you happy. You have to accept what God is doing in your life and stop fighting the growth and refining process that is torturing you every minute of the day.
You’ve seen those YouTube videos where drivers are stopped by routine police checks. There will always be that driver that refuses to cooperate and who demands his rights. Things quickly escalate and they don’t end well for the driver.
God is looking out for you. What is happening to you is not to hurt you. We need to quit demanding our rights and screaming ‘Am I being detained?’ It will only make it worse.
So how do we enter His presence to receive this joy? Being thankful for what you do have instead of worrying about what you don’t have.
Quit demanding your rights. You belong to God and he’s got his lawyers on the case. If God is for you, who can stand against you?
