Make Her Feel Desired and Attractive

In Daily Devotional by Neil Josephson

Theme of the Week: Bless Your Wife

Bible Verse: “When we measure ourselves by ourselves and compare ourselves with ourselves, we are not wise.” 2 Corinthians 10:12

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 5:15-23

We live in a day and age where we can feel completely inadequate by comparison to the public figures of our society and the images of our culture. I don’t want to over generalize but it has been our experience that women feel this more acutely than men.

We bless our wives when we make sure they know that we desire them and find them attractive, sexually and in every way. We need to use words, guys. Your wife longs to have authentic compliments from you. Don’t miss an opportunity to tell her. And we need to take action. Do things that make her feel secure and avoid things that don’t.

I used to subscribe to Sports Illustrated and, as every man in North America knows, they publish one issue each year that has absolutely nothing to do with sports. I remember my wife’s gratitude when I took the swimsuit issue the day it arrived and threw it in the garbage.

What I learned was that just keeping something like that around the house made her feel less than, made her feel inadequate by comparison, and that was no way to bless my wife. And just to take it a step further and be perfectly blunt, men – pornography is devastating to your wife. If we indulge in porn, it will make her feel deeply insecure, like we have rejected and even betrayed her.

Remember that the plan for blessing our wives is to build their feeling of security. Making her feel rock solid and safe in our love. Porn sets off a nuclear bomb at the foundation of your relationship.

Does your wife feel desired and attractive today? Make that your purpose and your passion and watch how that blesses her.
