Praying for Others

In Daily Devotional, Prayer, Spiritual Growth by Rick Verkerk

Theme of the Week: Praying for Others

Bible Verse: “I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.” John 17:9

Scripture Reading: John 17:1-27

In today’s Scripture reading, Jesus shows us what an intercessory partnership looks like, starting with prayer for himself, then intercession prayer for those close to him and others.

This week we will look at the importance of prayer intercession, which is loosely defined as “acting between two parties; begging or pleading on behalf of another; mediating”.

These reflections are based on a book, Love to Pray, that I continually re-read for encouragement, as it has been instrumental in teaching me about prayer.
