Bible Verse: And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:3-5, AMP)

Scripture Reading: Romans 5:1-5

It’s so easy to blame God for everything. It’s so easy to praise Him in the morning and by bedtime, we ask ourselves, ‘What is going on here?’ ‘What just happened?’

Many marble sculptures can take up to three years to complete. Our characters are like marble. Especially the characteristics no one sees and God the master sculptor is working on every one of them.

He selects the right chisel, the round chisel, then the toothed chisel, the flat chisel, the point chisel, lift the hammer, strike the blow.

Blow after blow fragments of rock and debris flying everywhere.

Your life is a mess, yet day after day, year after year, and after a while, a form begins to take shape.

A beautiful masterpiece emerges from the piles of debris.
