  • Participants need to cover the entry Tourist Card ($10 USD).
  • Some spending money is recommended for purchasing local handicrafts.

Your Role
You will spend time serving alongside local construction workers to build a large ground floor classroom as well as add tile to two existing classrooms. Some of the tasks may include heavy work, including sifting sand, mixing cement, tying rebar, plastering walls and tiling. Please be assured that there will be work that everyone can do. Your participation is not based on knowledge of construction or skill with a hammer, but by your capacity to learn and serve. We will strive to use your specific skills to the best of our ability.

We encourage you to take the time to build relationships with the people you will come into contact with while you are at the school. This will help you find out more about what God is doing in and through the lives of the principal, teachers and students who work and learn there. With an attitude of learning and service and a listening heart, you will have an incredible opportunity to experience Nicaraguan culture firsthand and interact with and bless leaders, workers, teachers and students in the surrounding community.
Participants arrive at Managua International Airport and are transported to their accommodations. Breakfast and supper are provided there, and lunch is provided at the work site. A host and translator are provided but participants with Spanish skills are an asset!
