    Now is the Time

Often in my ministry, I have the incredible opportunity to participate in people getting baptized. In most cases, the person being baptized has experienced some really rough times since I serve in inner-city neighbourhoods. What I love about these baptisms is that each person going under the water has experienced

    Witness in Training

I recently asked a room full of Christian leaders to share the Gospel as they would to a 10-year-old child 3 minutes before they fell asleep. Then I asked them to share the Gospel as they would to a complete stranger on the subway who was getting off at the

    Called to Testify

When I was a child, my life was disrupted by the grace of God. Somehow, in my little mind, I knew I had sinned — my sin deserves death — God so loved me He sent Jesus to die in my place – and Jesus died and rose again, so

5 Ways You Can Be Weird at Work

Witnessing at work can be a little tricky. You can’t use your position as a platform for evangelism, but you are usually allowed to answer questions. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. – 1

    Only Ministry Matters

Regardless of “profession,” serve God in all you do By Phil Wagler During my first pastoral call I was a tent-maker. Okay, that’s a bit of a misnomer; I didn’t make tents at all. More accurately, I was a lawn-mower, a weed-warrior, a rider of the green and yellow machine that

Men at Work: Sharing Christ on the Job

The “occupational hazards” of workplace evangelism By Paul H. Boge You’re at your job and see your co-worker. You know him well enough to strike up a conversation. Maybe you’re even friends. You feel a responsibility to tell him about Jesus. And yet you wonder how this may affect your

    Addicted to Success

“She’s a busybody.” “She’s too bossy.” “She’s a real…” Well, you get the idea. If you’ve ever had thoughts like these for a female superior in the workplace, chances are you’re not alone. Women in positions of management are often criticized for being too controlling, too particular, too overbearing, and so forth. But

Guatemala, the Land of Eternal Spring, is a country of stunning natural beauty. The Guatemalan people are primarily of Spanish or Mayan origin with many of mixed ethnicity. There are large cities like the capital, Guatemala City, with about 3 million people and many small villages with only 100 of 200 people. Nearly half of the people of Guatemala live int he rural areas like those that we serve.

The Guatemalan people are generous and kind. While their country has significant rates of poverty, Bualemalans ar industrious, hard-working, family-oriented people.

The water need in Guatemala are significant. Many Guatemalans have no choice but to drink contaminated water from rivers or hand-dug wells, and the health of their families suffers. Other Guatemalans spend as much as 20% of thei income on potable water. Often a family has to choose between school for their children or purchasing clean water

Water Ambassadors Canada (WAC) is a registered Canadian humanitarian charity established to provide safe drinking water to those without in the developing world, primarily in Central America, by sending short-term teams of volunteers to drill or rehabilitate wells, install chlorination or filtration systems, and teach health and hygiene. Since tiw founding in 2003, WAC has provided clean water to over 250,00 people.

People of all ages have participated in their trips, and no special skills are required. Water Ambassadors Canada provide ‘on the job’ training!
